The first installment in the rambo series certainly has its moments,such as throwing a stone at a frigin hellycopter which a cop falls out of 'class'.The best things about the film are for you to find out,buy this dvd.
In that light, "First Blood" was one of the few films to present a Vietnam vet as a hero.
The message of "First Blood" might be forced, but it is hard to turn in a stern indictment of the film on that basis given what was happening with Vietnam vets in Hollywood.

First Blood is about a Vietnam veteran named John Rambo who comes to a small town in Washington the state(it was actually filmed in the dead of British Columbia, Canada's winter of 1981/82) to meet a fellow comrade/friend from his elite Green Beret unit.
Despite the fact he had very limited speaking parts, First Blood was one of Stallone's best performances highlighted by the Vietnam speech near the end of the film.

It's been a while since I sat down with First Blood in its unedited from, I've been stuck with late night reruns on TBS, ugh.
Today I'm taking a look at the standalone edition of First Blood, the one that started it all and the one that happens to be my second favorite in the series.
You'd be hard-pressed to notice much of a difference between any of the audio options, as they all pretty much sounded the same to me. I actually found the original 2.0 mix to be the most pleasing option of the bunch as it sounded the least artificial, go figure.
