Cranky Critic® Movie Reviews: First Kid
First Kid is, for the most part, an exercise in Sinbad goofiness (which I happen to like).
As well, First Kid is filled with name-brand television actors, and I've written many times of how I like the work of actors that just want to entertain, and not make filmboy history.
FK's first girl, Katie (Erin Williby) was judged cuuuute by the boy-kid behind me. Were I not wary of getting in trouble in 48 of the 50 States if I agreed with that assessment, I'd agree with that assessment.

Kid Quantum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kid Quantum is the name of three comic book superheroes in the DC Universe, who were members of different incarnations of the Legion of Super Heroes.
James Cullen, the first Kid Quantum, was retconned into the Legion's past during the "TMK" era, ostensibly as a result of a history-changing disaster.
Despite initial hostility to the Legion when she first joined, she eventually grew within the role to the point where she was elected leader of the team, thanks in large part to Cosmic Boy's recommendation of her.

 Kid Eernity: Billy Batson's Cousin?
There are more than just a few similarities between the first Kid Eternity story and the original Captain Marvel all of which are overshadowed by the huge “coincidence” of the Kid and Billy Batson both being able to change into powerful characters simply by shooting off their mouths.
A Nazi sub torpedoes the ship, killing the captain who is Kid’s grandfather and then delivers the coup de grace with machine-gun volleys at the survivors in the water killing Kid along with everyone else who had managed to survive the torpedo strike.
After the first issue, though the concept was altered slightly so that the characters were summoned separately from Kid Eternity and he fought side by side with them.

Things could be worse: "First Kid" mercifully skips the scene in which Luke and the senior Davenports patch up all their misunderstandings and become a happy family.
Still, "First Kid" is a clean-cut, affable family film without objectionable elements, beyond the brief and needless violence that complicates its finale.
"First Kid" was directed by David Mickey Evans in a simpler, more ingratiating style than he showed in "The Sandlot," and is helped by some solid performers in supporting roles.
