		Guinevere is first seen playing soccer with her court, which gives some credence to her later, fitful, flashes of martial ardor.
		The film is frequently gorgeous: Arthur and his knights are first glimpsed at night, in a velvety fl-and-blue torchlight parade into the celestial Camelot.
		In the traditional version, Lancelot is the greatest knight of all, a French noble who comes to Camelot because he believes in Arthur's dream and who loses his moral compass when he falls in love with Guinevere.

		There were three medieval/British Isle films released in 1995 -- "Braveheart," "Rob Roy" and "First Knight." Mel Gibson's "Braveheart" is certainly the most epic of the three, but I found it incredibly overrated; which isn't to say I don't like it, I just don't feel that it's as great as the hype would suggest.

		A fallen knight who's just plumb wacko, Malagant has decided that the Round Table's just for squares and he'll be hangeth if he's going to put up with this chivalry crap anymore.
		The film contains battle scenes (they seem almost bloodless after the ferocity of "Braveheart") and glancing references to period politics, but "First Knight" is primarily a love story, and a chaste one at that.
