		One man, Richard Cypher, holds the key to the fate of three nations, of humanityBut until he learns the Wizard's First Rule his chances of succeeding in his task are slim.
		There's no logic for the title or Wizard's rules and this series of books could have been written with a completely different title without the 'rules' without detriment to the story.
		I try all the same however, and I use Wizard's First Rule as the basis for all that I strive to avoid in my own writing.

		Wizard’s First Rule is, most decidedly, a whiz-bang first novel.
		The good news is, of course, that Wizard’s First Rule is a whole lot more readable than Britannica (in order, even).
		George R. Martin and Philip Pullman may be getting more press and more awards than Terry Goodkind, but Wizard’s First Rule stands easily with A Game of Thrones or The Golden Compass as the beginning to an excellent series.

		He is, at first unknown to himself, the "Seeker," wielder of the Sword of Truth and the only possessor of the arcane knowledge contained in the powerful Book of Counted Shadows.
		The love interest established in the first chapter, starting on a quest to stop an evil lord with a ragtag band that somehow includes a wizard, the enchanted sword, the sorceress they meet along the way who speaks in riddles.
		Wizard's First Rule is a good start to the series, but it does take a while to get used to Godkind's style.
