In the end, the two approaches were combined as the modern synthesis of evolutionary biology, especially by work conducted by Ronald Fisher in 1918.
Fisher analyzed the results of the F1 (first filial) ratio and found them to be implausibly close to the exact ratio of 3 to 1.
The fact that his reported results concentrate on the few traits in peas, which are determined by a single gene, has also suggested that he may have censored his results, otherwise he would have stumbled across genetic linkage.

The co-occurrence data for the associational and disambiguation algorithms was collected from a corpus of 3,711 AP newswire articles, comprising approximately 1.7 million words of text.
The only difference from the disambiguation computation is that, rather than constraining the candidate set of categories to the senses of the the term in the target position, every category is considered.
I then evaluate the performance of the disambiguation algorithm, which is critical for both the associational labeling and the direct methods that use either the term sense priors, or the disambiguator output.

analysis of variance - Article and Reference from OnPedia.com
In statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a collection of statistical models and their associated procedures which compare means by splitting the overall observed variance into different parts.
The initial techniques of the analysis of variance were pioneered by the statistician and geneticist Ronald Fisher in the 1920s and 1930s, and is sometimes known as Fisher's ANOVA or Fisher's analysis of variance
Degrees of freedom indicates the effective number of observations which contribute to the sum of squares in an ANOVA, the total number of observations minus the number of linear constraints in the data.

Or for that matter, when someone searches for Central Command, the first page that comes up should be the disambiguation link to inform them that there is more than one "Central Command", or more than one reference to pretty much everything else that otherwise requires a qualifier.
Most of this can be interpreted from Memory Alpha: Disambiguation -- in terms of not making the disambig page an orphan, but not sending a reader to the disambig page when there is only one other name linked on it that could otherwise be listed on the only other article page with a shared name.

Heredity (the adjective is hereditary) is the transfer of characteristics from parent to offspring, either through their genes or through the social institution called inheritance (for example, a title of nobility is passed from individual to individual according to relevant customs and/or laws).
However, his work was not widely known and was only rediscovered in 1901.
