The Five Weirs Walk starts at Blonk Street where there is ample parking on the left of picture, There is easy access to the river down a ramp from the path about 50 metres from the road.
Walk Mill weir is the first of the five weirs and is located between the Cobweb bridge and Burton weir.
Burton weir is the second of the five weirs (PORTAGE LEFT), this is where the path rejoins the river after leaving it at the Cobweb bridge and is the recommended start for open boaters, access is about one fifty metres down Warren Street on the right hand side of the road.

The healthy walks started in February 2001 and we have now 25 health walkers that regularly meet on a Monday at High Hazels Park.
He has since started a Somali Ladies Walk on a Wednesday and a 20 minute Walk for anybody on a Tuesday who cannot manage the 45-minute walk on the Monday.
Other walks that are planned are mother and toddlers walks and walks for people with disabilities.

The seventh and largest arch, which spans the river is said to be the second in size on this continent and one of the largest stone arches in the world.

Boldly going where many towpath walkers wouldn't dream of going, this quarter's selection of walks include the Glamorganshire Canal from Merthyr Tydfil to Abercynon, the Donnington Wood Canal in Shropshire and the Melton Mowbray Navigation, as well as a slightly more "established" waterside ramble along the River Don on the Five Weirs Walk in Sheffield.
