Eternal Flame | Year in Review | West Texas A&M University | Canyon, Texas
It had been twelve years since the University had published a yearbook – and the time was right to create something new.
From that original yearbook taskforce came the idea for the Eternal Flame, WT’s official year-in-review publication.
The Eternal Flame is a 100+page paperback time capsule.

Lapidary Journal: Hot Enough for You? 30 Hot Torches!
It is a non-toxic, easily detectable, stable, high-energy fuel whose 5301°F flame is used in lampworking, brazing, soldering, annealing, flame cutting, and flame-hardening.
Tips increase or reduce the flame size: a small tip produces a pinpoint flame suitable for small work, a medium tip produces a medium-sized flame for soldering; and a large tip produces a brush flame which anneals, melts, and casts.
This results in a larger, cleaner flame with far more flame adjustment than an internal mix torch where a tip change is necessary to achieve a different size flame.

In the bad old days of print, I once wrote a 3,000 word feature on the relative merits of two mainframe operating systems for a weekly IT rag with a circulation in excess of 120,000.
This is why PR bunnies should advise that under no circumstances, ever, should the Managing Director be allowed to write a letter to the Editor complaining that their company wasn't getting fair treatment, unless he wants to spend the next six months stuck to an equine backside.
Luckily, the bulk flamefests triggered by daring to use the humane killer on someone's holy cow usually result in 95% of the flames being sent through proxies because the flamers are too scared to use their real email addresses, so we only have to reply to a handful of them.

Due to the flame war warping my sense of humor, I don't expect others without similar warps to find them so funny.
It has his post from 3/16/97 where he tells a magazine editor to do his homework and look up Derek's dissertation, then from 8/9/97, which is the start of the PhD fraud flame war, through Derek Smart Fraud Day, 8/27/97.
