 | | Such fatigue cracking of the outboard support of the flaperons, if not detected and corrected, could result in fracture of the flaperon support structure, loss of the flaperon, and consequent reduced controllability of the airplane. |
 | | The FAA is currently considering requiring modification of the outboard and inboard support assemblies of the flaperons, as described in the alert service bulletin, which would constitute terminating action for the repetitive inspections required by this AD. |
