		Flatbush, as denoting generally including Midwood, is used as the name for the area that includes a huge Orthodox Jewish community with a number of very large yeshivas and smaller similar schools.
		The main ones are Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin, Yeshiva of Flatbush, and the Mir yeshiva.
		Flatbush and the other towns of what was to become Kings County were surrendered to the English in 1664.
