Flaxmere - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Flaxmere is a town in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand's North Island.
Flaxmere was intended to be an upper-middle class subdivision but because land was subdivided into smaller lots it turned into a low income neighbourhood, with the highest crime rate and poverty levels in the Napier-Hastings metro area.
The suburb is typical of modern suburbs with a long avenue (Flaxmere Ave.) running its length with curved streets and cul-de-sacs radiating from it.
