Large passenger aircraft operators almost always differentiate between the flight crew and the flight attendants (Cabin Crew).
For example manufacturer's representatives working on the flight deck to study the operation or behaviour of equipment are not members of the aircrew.

PSA Flight 182 was a Pacific Southwest Airlines commercial flight that flew on a Sacramento–Los Angeles–San Diego route.
Following a mid-air collision, the flight crashed into a San Diego neighborhood, killing all 135 on board, plus the two men on board a small aircraft and seven persons on the ground, on September 25, 1978.
One of the victims on board PSA Flight 182 was Alan Tetelman, president of Failure Analysis, en route to investigate a U.S. Navy plane crash.

Two crew members on a domestic Aeroflot flight beat up a passenger who had complained that the flight attendants were drunk, airline spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg said.
Seeing that the crew were intoxicated and were not fulfilling their duties, Chernopup asked to be served by a sober and competent flight attendant, Dannenberg said.
The entire crew of the flight has been temporarily dismissed and a joint commission is investigating the incident, Dannenberg said.
