Flinx pursues her across the rainy world of Moth and discovers she has been kidnapped by the mysterious Meliorare Society, a group known to have experimented with eugenics and might very well be the source of Flinx’s unusual talents.
Flinx is gifted with empathic powers and able to project emotions and read the emotions of others.

It's fun and funny, filled with great characterization (my particular weak spot is for Pip -- what I wouldn't give for a mini dragon -- she's smart, has an ability to empathize and can be downright scary when she needs to be), and beautiful settings.

As a fan of the Commonwealth series and especially those involving Flinx I looked forward to this installment of Flinx's adventures with relish and for the most part I found it very good.
However, the ending was very unsatisifying and i felt Alan Dean Foster let the readers down with its lacklustre finish.
