 VHS Westerns Flipper's New Adventure
Flipper the TV series was made before my time, but I grew up watching reruns of the classic series.
Just like the TV series, the famous dolphin named Flipper is here in "Flipper's New Adventure" making rescues, helping people, and just being the good old talented Flipper that performs amazing exploits in the water.
As long as I live, Flipper will always be one of my favorite TV series of all time.

The film was so successful, it spawned a sequel, Flipper's New Adventure (1964), as well as a TV series that ran for 88 episodes over three seasons.
Following the end of the TV series, however, Luke's acting days dwindled, as he appeared in other less well-known films, including If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium, Island of the Lost, and Shock Waves (available on DVD which includes an interview with Luke).
Numerous roles followed, and by the age of 15, Luke had already appeared on most of the major TV series of the day: Armstrong Circle Theater, United States Steel Hour, Studio One, Kraft Theatre, Harbor Master, Everglades, The Phil Silvers Show, The Defenders, Route 66, Naked City, and Young Doctor Malone.

 dOc treehouse: Flipper (1963)
The Flipper franchise was reborn in 1983 with another TV series, and again in 1995 and 1996 with two more TV series, The New Adventures of Flipper and a quasi-remake in 1996 starring Paul Hogan and Elijiah Wood.
Flipper is brought home to the family's fish holding pen where boy and dolphin bond during Flipper's recovery, but trouble starts when Sandy's fisherman father (Chuck Connors) returns from sea, demanding the dolphin be returned to the wild.
Flipper has a similar feel to the many live-action titles Disney was producing in the 1960s (including its fairly annoying theme song), but has less comedic elements than one might expect.

Polish Music Journal 4.1.01 - Schubert: The American Film Scores of Henry Vars
Vars' best-known work was for Flipper (1963), produced by Ivan Tors, who followed up that film with Flipper's New Adventure (1964), and then the television series Flipper (1964 - 68)—all of which used Vars' music.
In the United States he continued to write popular songs; "Flipper" was probably his most popular piece and was recorded at least eight times between 1963 and 1985.
It was probably his association with this show that lead to his writing the theme music for the first season of the series Daktari, also produced by MGM in the mid-1960s.

 Amazon.com: Video: Flipper (1963)
If you've ever liked the TV series or even if you haven't ever seen it, but you like dolphins or just good movies, I recommend getting "Flipper." It'd probably be especially good for kids of any age to watch, and possibly a good family movie.
Flipper's recovery is a most miraculous one, but the real story deals with the relationship between father and son, and the growth of the young man. Sandy is a good kid, but not syrupy sweet.
One person said flipper is just a rehash of lassie, in some stories like the Ditching, where you hear go for help flipper were counting on you, youre our only hope but youll find stories like shark hunt or even flippers hour of peril quite different from lassie and the wolf cub.

 Sea TV
A number of weekly television series, such as NBC's Flipper (1964-68), NBC's seaQuest DSV (1993-95), and ABC's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-68), also have set their story lines in or around the marine environment.
Regrettably, television writers have tended to view mutinies in extremely simple terms: they either are clearly justified (i.e., an obviously evil or crazy captain has forced the crew into an intolerable situation) or clearly unjustified (i.e., an obviously rapacious or easily-misled crew has refused to follow lawful orders).
Television audiences simply do not learn much maritime law apart from a few traditional rules, which often are explained incorrectly or not at all.
