  Shonen Knife Interview from Flipside
Flipside: I went to see Mescaline Drive (something like a Japanese Pandoras or Salem 66) the other night and since they got their major label deal they've gotten a lot less interesting.
Flipside: You also once had a slight connection with Sub Pop.
Flipside: Speaking of borrowing, I heard a tape somebody made of you live in '84 where you play, like, the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated" with your own lyrics.

Fanzine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A fanzine (see also: zine) is a nonprofessional publication produced by fans of a particular subject for the pleasure of others who share their interest.
Early fanzines were hand-drafted or typed on a manual typewriter and printed using primitive reproduction techniques (e.g., the spirit duplicator or even the hectograph).
The punk explosion in the United Kingdom led to a massive upsurge of interest in fanzines as an alternative to the mainstream media that was felt to be too exploitative, capitalist, and essentially uninterested in the Punk Movement and the concerns of disaffected youth.

But, when I was in school, it was pretty hard to slide through that and, at the same time, do a fanzine.
Aaron: After the five year anniversary issue, I may be changing the way I channel the fanzine because it's going to be the best of the last five years.
After summing up those five years, I'm going to move on and I will probably not be doing Cometbus anymore, but I may be collaborating with someone else on something or contributing to a lot of fanzines or something.

Blaze and I were virtually minutes away from hopping into his van and gunning it into Hollywood but things had fallen apart due to how NOFX was mentioned and treated by the national press.

Flipside filmed a couple of the shows they played out there and compiled it together which has now been preserved on DVD.
While the quality certainly isn’t up to today’s standards, back in 1985 Flipside put out some nice amateurish videos that were certainly well above the quality of a guy taking his mom’s video camera to a show.

However, in a 1991 interview with Flipside fanzine, Shane Embury (Napalm Death bassist 1987-present) named Siege, via their widely fan-circulated demo tape, as Napalm Death's primary influence.
In addition to Boston gigs, Siege played gigs in western Massachusetts with local hardcore bands DYS, Cancerous Growth, The Freeze, Outpatients, and Deep Wound.
