Float Valves by Cleveland Valve Co
This valve eliminates all of the problems caused by mechanical float valves as well as outperforms any other valve on the market with respect to valve life, inlet pressure and water flow.
Conventional valves measure 20" to 36" from valve to float.
Conventional Valves are made from precision machined brass parts and use water levels to create leverage on the stem which forces the Plunger inward to close the valve.

 Patent 5445501
Further, the change-over valve 120 is of such a construction that when one of the valve parts of the gas inlet and outlet valve mechanism is closed, the other valve part is opened, and as understood from the relationship in the position of both valve parts 122, 123 and the actuating rod 121 in FIG.
An outlet valve 20 is housed in the operating fluid outlet 11 and an inlet valve 21 is housed in the operating fluid inlet 13, said inlet and outlet valves constituting a change-over valve 120 similar to the valve shown in FIG.
Moreover, when the inlet valve 21 is opened and the outlet valve 20 is closed, a force is applied to the pin 76 so as to rotate the axis of the pin 76 because the center axis of the outlet valve 20 and that of the slider 53 are shifted relative to each other.

The valve is operated mechanically by a float which rests on the top of the liquid.
The amount of liquid pressure the valve can shutoff against is determined by the length of the rod and size of the float for a given valve size.

Another example has the connecting end of the float rod threadably engaged with a valve lever, such that adjustment of the position of the float is effected by rotatably lengthening or shortening its extension from the valve, thereby effecting the closing of the valve and thus the level of fluid in the container.
The level of the water (14) is controlled by a conventional float valve mechanism indicated generally by the numeral (16) mounted within the tank (13) below the lid (17) of the water (11), which closes with a seal (18) between the mating surfaces of the base (12) and lid (17).
Thus, by changing the position of the float (23) and stem (24) relative to the valve (21) and lever (22), via unfastening and fastening the wing nut (26), the amount and level of water (14) within the tank (13) may be changed.

Float valves and lever valves are designed to control the level of liquids through mechanically actuation.
Float valves are actuated through the attached float ball, float rod, and lever assembly and do not require any external power source.
Lever valves are actuated through the use of some external power source such as manual operation, float boxes/mechanisms, electric motors or other actuators, through external linkage to the lever of the valve.

 Bi-Level, Float Control Valve
The float pilot senses a low- and high-water level in the tank or reservoir and will alternately pressurize and vent the upper control chamber of the main valve.
For high-level closing the adjustable float ball rises to the high-float stop and causes the float pilot to switch position.
As tank level drops the main valve remains closed until the float ball drops to the low-float stop pilot and causes the float pilot to switch position.
