What I don't understand is why won't the city of Orlando embrace a light rail system that could connect with the high speed rail.
Running the high speed rail to downtown would only be a waste of money, because you'll have two overlapping systems (assuming light rail connects downtown to Universal/Disney), which is a huge waste of money.
This whole high speed rail debate would have not even mattered if the city acted on that great light rail plan, years ago.
