Philip K Dick: Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said - an infinity plus review
The plot is so well knitted together -- one of the best of Dick's plots in my opinion -- that it is hard to say much about what happens without ruining it for a reader.
Inside the first leaf are listed all the books Dick wrote (which is a nice touch of this series, it must have been tempting to list SF Masterworks 1-45 instead) and I was pleased to see that I haven't read more than a quarter of them.
As for the title, no the policeman doesn't actually say it, but he hears it, in a John Dowland pavan, and it fits.

Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, a CurtainUp Los Angeles review
Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said is one of Dick's more respected works (It won a John W. Campbell award for best SF novel in 1975).
Tony Maggio's Felix Buckman (the titular Policeman) is played as a buffoon of sorts, and his sister Alys (Tara Chocol) is portrayed as a drugged-out fetishist.
While the Evidence Room's Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said doesn't live up to the weightier themes of Dick's novel, it does backup it's stylized interpretation.

Dick published Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said in 1974.
But, because the stories he tells rely on the standard hero/heroine motif, and because his characters' problems are always emotional and spiritual, the essence of his novels are timeless.
In Flow My Tears, adapted for the stage by Linda Hartunian, Jason Taverner is genetically designed to live the carefree life of a rich and famous television star, but a freak accident hurls him into an alternate universe where he doesn't exist.

(My most favorite sci-fi flick, for what it’s worth, is Stanley Kubrick’s 2001.) Because of Blade Runner, I always thought I’d give Dick a try sometime, but managed to put it off – alas, there are many books to read, and so little time.
Then I saw Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, a mediocre movie for my taste, not in the same category as Blade Runner and 2001, but the story itself is intriguing, a future society where crimes are discovered before they happen.
I decided to start with Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said, which won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for best novel of 1974.
