Flow binding system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Flow binding system is a proprietary snowboard binding system, used to attach a rider's feet to the snowboard.
Flow bindings are intended to combine the levels of control available from traditional strap-in bindings, with the convenience and fast entry of step-in binding systems.
Flow bindings have a folding high-back and a pre-formed material upper section.

The bindings are affixed to the board, and the booted feet are then held in place in the bindings using a variety of systems.
Step-in bindings require special boots which are stiffer and particular to the step-in binding system.
An example is the Flow binding system which is similar to a strap-in binding, except that the foot enters the binding through the back (which then clips into place) rather than the top.

 Bindings - The Carver's Almanac
Some binding plates have multiple sets of holes to allow more flexibility when positioning them on the board, and you may find that more than 4 holes in the binding line up with inserts on the board, in which case you can use them.
For bindings with a toe clip, the set screw on the toe clip should be adjusted so that the toe piece comes to rest just after the point of maximum tension, and so that there is at least ~ 1 cm of clearance for your fingers to grip under the toe clip for release.
Regular bindings typically require you to align your heel correctly into the heel bails, but since you can't see the heel bails as you do this maneuver, you can wind up failing to get the right alignment even after multiple tries, and it can be damn frustrating, especially if the board is not level.

HFCIT Fuel Cells: Fuel Cell Systems
If hydrogen is fed to the system, a processor may not be required or it may only be needed to filter impurities out of the hydrogen gas.
This prevents impurities in the gas from binding with the fuel cell catalysts.
This binding process is also called "poisoning" since it reduces the efficiency and life expectancy of the fuel cell.

The immune system is divided into non-specific mechanisms, which are aimed at foreign agents in general, and and involve the phagocytic activity of certain leukocytes specific defense mechanisms aimed at particular pathogens or toxic agents.
The immune system is primarily a defensive system which protects the individual against a variety of foreign substances including micro-organisms, transplanted cells and irritants.
Helper T-cells are attracted to and bind to the bacterial antigens presented on the surface of the macrophage.

Snowboarding Essentials - Bindings   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Bindings are essential for snowboarding, they ensure that your snowboard boots (and of course your feet) are attached securely to your snowboard.
Boots and bindings are often a combination wherein not every boot is suitable for each type of binding and vice versa.
Currently, soft boots and strap bindings are the norms since they provide a flexible way of adjusting the boots and bindings for a perfect fit, and are most comfortable when not on the board.

The bindings are fixed to the board, and hold the booted feet in place using a variety of systems.
Relative to strap-in bindings, step-in bindings use a stiffer shoe sole and boot to maintain responsiveness in compensation for the lack of over the foot restraining straps and (sometimes) lack of binding highback.

Up until the 1940s the problem of information flow was approached in terms of analysis of the neuron because it was believed to be simply a function of the generation and propagation of nerve impulses along the neurons i.e.
The binding is excitatory if it produces movement of electrically charged ions which results in the depolarization of the membrane and generation of a new nerve impulse i.e.
The binding is inhibitory if it produces movement of electrically charged ions which results in the further polarization of the membrane and the failure to generate a new nerve impulse i.e.

The Biotin-Avidin System has proven to be particularly useful in the detection and localization of antigens, glycoconjugates, and nucleic acids by employing biotinylated antibodies, lectins, or nucleic acid probes.
Although each technique has its merit, it is now widely appreciated that the Biotin-Avidin System provides the highest sensitivity in fluorescence and enzyme-based detection, versatility that allows easy interchange or introduction of multiple markers, and the ability to localize or detect antigens which are difficult or impossible to see or measure with other systems.
By using either separate enzyme systems, two different substrates for the same, or assorted fluorochrome conjugates, more than one antigen can be localized in the same tissue section.

 Snowboard 2.0 - Snowboard Information
Strap-in, step-in, and hybrid bindings are used by most recreational riders and all freestyle riders.
In 2004, K2 released the Cinch series, a similar hybrid binding; riders slip their foot in as they would a Flow binding, however rather than webbing, the foot is held down by straps which can then be micro-adjusted for superior fit and performance.
Most riders choose somewhere in between these two stance widths with bias to either freestyle or freeride and experimentation is the only way for most riders to find the best stance width for their position by changing one value at a time and riding the same stretch of mountain for comparison.

 Third Party Binding
If a component performs binding actions itself those bindings are hidden within its implementation and it becomes implicitly dependent on the components to which it is bound.
Because interactions between components are made explicit, it is easier to model and reason about the behavior of the system in terms of the behavior of the components.
If component bindings must be modified at run time, it might be easier to use a ComponentBus that allows components to communicate without being explicitly bound to each other.
