		Flowing Tears started life as the rather lengthier ‘Flowing Tears and Withered Flowers’, forming in Saarbrucken, Germany in 1994.
		It was important to Flowing Tears that they keep the band’s signature sound of deeper female vocals, rather than change their style to fit someone totally different.
		‘Flowing Tears’ are a band who have changed and evolved over the last ten years, without losing their indefinable sound — they stand out from many of their contemporaries with their brand of guitar driven gothic metal and fantastic live performances — definitely a band on its way to greater success.

		I want to describe the painting: almost all of the canvas is taken up by the life size head and neck, in profile, of a weeping woman, tears flowing unstoppably out of her eyes, down her face, cheek and nose a watery pink.
		Tears are messy: crying produces swollen eyelids, smeared mascara, pinkish snotty noses, splotchy complexion etc. The veil of tears clouds our vision: we can’t “really” see.

		Not so far as to sound manly but nowhere in the arena of your typical female pop rock vocalists, it lends a smoky quality to the music not necessarily unfamiliar to FT fans; she sounds eerily similar to Duchene more often than not.
		Flowing Tears shares this, among a number of other similarities (producer, sexy female vocalist, trend conscious photo sessions) with their label mates.
		I really think Flowing Tears have the chops to break from the pack of gothic rock/metal wannabes for good but I think we’re going to have to wait for that break through release just a little bit longer.

		Sometimes when a band plays the UK for the first time, they receive a hero's welcome, like Nightwish did at the Mean Fiddler in August and then on other occasions, they are faced with a wall of indifference.

		Flowing Tears have neither the exaggerated gothic bent of Lacuna Coil nor the hard-rock exuberance of Lullacry, and they're not a fl-, death-, doom-, power- or speed-metal band, which leaves them, for me, in a weird and intriguing limbo between subgenres.
		The definitive demonstration here might be "The Pit", which opens with a muttering synth riff somewhere between drum and bass and Jean Michel Jarre, only to bury it after twenty seconds and launch into deadpan metal churn, a six-piece band doing their best to sound like a power trio.
		Most of the time, in fact, Entwine sound very much like Flowing Tears, the difference between Mika Tauriainen's male vocals and Duchêne's female ones discernible but not profoundly character-altering.
