 OEB Chair Responds to MEA Letter - Industry Reform Update
Ontario Energy Board Chair Floyd Laughren has responded to the MEA’s letter regarding proposed amendments to the Retail Settlement Code and the market readiness self-certification process.
Laughren acknowledged the MEA’s argument that there are other important participants who must achieve readiness to make the new market successful, and said that the OEB’s July 31st Self-certification report acknowledges that utilities’ readiness is dependent on the readiness of others.
Laughren also told the MEA that the Board intends to issue the revised market readiness plan in the next few weeks, and that the OEB would consider the outstanding issues and impact of activities and decisions – raised by the MEA – in setting new milestones.
