  Flying Finns - Famous Finnish Rally Drivers
The title "Flying Finns" has been applied to many Finnish sports figures over the years, often in ski jumping and track events.
But it is in the sport of rallying that the Finns truly excel, as rally drivers from Finland have dominated the International rally scene for over four decades.
In the late 1960s, there was a Castrol produced film of the 1968 Rally of 1000 Lakes in Finland called "The Flying Finns".

Finn O’Sullivan and Jonathan Malone were working extremely hard, driving the lead group which allowed them to hold onto a 1 minute advantage.

He gratefully acknowledges the assistance given him by around 50 different people and organizations by supplying their photos, records and most importantly, memories of the “Flying Finn” and the huge influence he had on all those lucky people who’s lives were touched by him until his death in 1973.
Despite this it is an effortless read and apart from the book’s obvious historical value, it’s strength lies equally in the 221 photographs of Jarno and those around him, many of which have never before been published.
