 | | Potential energy is experienced while the roller coaster car is being projected to the top of the lift hill, where, at the top of the hill, potential energy will be at its greatest since this is point where the coaster is at its highest elevation. |
 | | Gravity powers the coaster though the duration of the ride by detaching the car from the lift mechanism, which propels the car up the lift hill, and forces the coaster off of its highest elevation along the inclined track of the first hill and propels the coaster through the extent of the ride. |
 | | In contrast though, some coasters successfully project the illusion of faster speeds at the end of the ride though the creation of the tight curves, fast speed bumps, and causing the coaster to maneuver in and out of itself which is more a characteristic of wooden coaster rather the their steel predecessors. |
