Flyswatter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The modern flyswatter usually consists of a small square (about 4 inches or 10 cm across) of lightweight, flexible, vented material, usually rubber or plastic, attached to a lightweight wire or plastic handle about 2 feet long.
With the vents in it, the flyswatter usually gets close enough to the fly that when it is finally detected by the fly's pressure-sense or its eyes, it is too late for the fly to escape.
Electric flyswatters are handheld pest-controlling devices desinged to quickly and cleanly terminate insects by administering of a powerful, but brief electric shock when any conductive part of the insect that touches the terminals of the device.

Buddha is a blink-182 demo album that was originally recorded in 1993 and released on CD for the first time in 1998.
The album represents the humble roots of the now rock superstars, as it was recorded over three rainy nights on a 24 track recording system at Double Time Studios in San Diego when Mark Hoppus was very sick.
The album was first recorded onto a tape, and then Kung Fu Records transferred it into compact disc form and let it out to the public.

Like its two predecessors, the album was well-received critically upon its early 1989 release, and it performed well commercially, peaking at number 62 and eventually going gold.
Perhaps because of the album's eclectic, jazzy sound, the album produced only one minor country hit in "I Married Her Just Because She Looks like You," but his straight rendition of Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" received a great deal of attention in the media.
On the whole, the album was ignored by country radio, but pop audiences embraced the record and Lovett became a staple on adult alternative radio and VH-1.

 Atavistic Worldwide | Peter Brötzmann
Peter Brötzmann is best know as one of the founders of European improvised music and one of the most powerful and original jazz saxophonists of the post-60's era, but in fact began his creative life as a painter and even established ties with members of the Fluxus movement, primarily Nam June Paik.
Curated by John Corbett, in collaboration with the artist, the first North American exhibition of Brötzmann's visual art, THE INEXPLICABLE FLYSWATTER, follows up on the Swedish retrospective, focusing on a set of pieces that were left out of that show.
The primary subject of the exhibition is a set of over 50 works on paper (paintings, collages, lithographs) created over a four year period, more than half of which focus on a common, peculiar image: the flyswatter.

If the last Eels album was the musical equivalent to a funeral, then the stunning follow-up, Daisies Of The Galaxy, can be nothing else than the wake.
Though this third Eels album still has its down moments, they are thankfully few and another high point comes with "Flyswatter," an addictive rhythm with senseless lyrics about, of all things, creatures that "keep you itchin".
Daisies Of The Galaxy is a fun album, musically masterful and beautifully sung by an on-form E. And, of course, it features the radio-popular "Mr E's Beautiful Blues," under-played as a bonus track and surprisingly not featured at all on the sleeve notes.

But even with the strange demeanor of the album, it is absolutely perfect…a work of a brilliant although obviously perverse musician, vocalist, and most importantly lyricist.

With a nod to the Who's classic closet cleaner, ADZ emptied their own cupboards into 1999's Odz 'n' Sodz, a solid 15-track collection of tracks from compilations and split singles, demos, live tracks, and outtakes from every stage of the band's career.
From the beginning, as a re-formed version of '80s hardcore greats the Adolescents, ADZ have never had a stable lineup behind singer and primary songwriter Tony Reflex, but Reflex's eclectic pop-punk tastes are so clearly in control of ADZ that the album retains its conceptual unity.
This is mostly fun for fans, but casual listeners with a taste for unpretentious punk with an eye to history will find much to their liking as well.
