  Foci: Overview (Prater Raines Ltd)
Our Foci site has helped many small political organisations to get online, from local parties to MP's, MEP's, and even the GLA Liberal Democrat group and the campaign for Votes at Sixteen.
The Foci site is by far the UK Liberal Democrat's most popular web site service.
The Foci site is the ideal choice for liberal, social democratic, radical, or environmentalist campaigners internationally who want an easy to update and manage website, looking professional and effective online, at reasonable cost.

  Expert About fo:Foci
Foci of cellular alteration represent small to large aggregates of tinctorially distinct hepatocytes within the hepatic parenchyma and are sometimes considered putative preneoplastic lesions.
Ectopic foci are cells within the heart, but not located within the SA node, that have automaticity and therefore pacemaker activity.
Intuitive foci are focal points that represent something, things that touch your subconscious mind and generate a strong response.

 MedFriendly.com: Echogenic cardiac foci
Echogenic cardiac foci refer to a high number of echoes inside an area (see next section) of an unborn child’s heart.
Many of the cases of echogenic cardiac foci go away by themselves by the time the child is born.
Echogenic cardiac foci are also known as cardiac echogenic foci, intracardiac echogenic foci, and echogenic intracardiac foci.

Quantitative Motion Analysis of Subchromosomal Foci in Living Cells Using Four-Dimensional Microscopy -- Bornfleth et ...
The foci are shown as spheres with volumes that correspond to the volumes found after segmentation.
Because of noise and optical merging and parting of foci, a "diffusion coefficient" that is shifted toward higher values was obtained after the virtual imaging process and image analysis.
The motion of foci inside the model territory was assumed to be random.

The Earth and the dark star that is the second foci of the 12th Planet's orbit do not rotate around each other any more than the planets in your Solar System rotate around each other.
The reason for the latter is that the Sun dominates the planets, and their influence on each other becomes the lesser voice.
This second foci of the 12th Planet has not been located by your astronomers because it is dark, not lit, and does not happen to block any view your astronomers are particularly interested in.

Phosphorylation and Rapid Relocalization of 53BP1 to Nuclear Foci upon DNA Damage -- Anderson et al. 21 (5): 1719 -- ...
HT1080 cells untreated (A, C, and E) or exposed to 84 Gy of X rays (X) (B, D, and F) were fixed at 15 h postirradiation and double stained with Cy5 for Mre11 (C and D; pseudo-colored in red) and with FITC for 53BP1 (A and B; green).
Nuclei were categorized as having 0 to 5 foci (blue bars), 6 to 30 foci (green bars), 31 to 60 foci (yellow bars), 61 to 90 foci (red bars), and >91 foci (brown bars) at each time point.
For Mre11, only large, well-distinguished foci were scored (e.g., the nucleus marked with an arrowhead in panel D was scored as negative for Mre11 foci).

Open Publishing System - Some Thoughts
Concepts embedded in it include a "focus server", that is, a centralised point for foci (an online community type of deal), and "affiliation", that is, groups which the owner of the focus and/or the owner of the resource have some affiliation with (represented by a link to the group's site).
This would inform the resource's focus server of which foci had linked to the content, and it could then parse the file for the date linked, comments, rating etc. These in turn could be displayed in a sidebar as suggested in the resources mentioned at the beginning of this document.
To save bandwidth, the focusML files could be set up so that a new one is started each month (or year) for each focus, and a naming convention could be adopted which included the month/year at the end of the filename.

Dynamics of DNA Replication Factories in Living Cells -- Leonhardt et al. 149 (2): 271 -- The Journal of Cell Biology
B, A cell was imaged at higher resolution starting in early S phase with a fine punctate pattern of replication foci (time 0 h), succeeded by a perinucleolar pattern (at 5 h) and a characteristic late pattern with few, but large, foci (at 8–12 h).
Together with small size foci (less than 1-µm diam) several large foci are visible at the beginning of the experiment (left side nucleus).
Deconvolved images from different Z planes (middle) reveal that these large foci are made of clusters of small size foci which form and disassemble independently giving rise to the different shapes and sizes of the large foci over time.

The purpose of the FOCI Program is to obtain information that indicates whether offerors/bidders or contractors are owned, controlled, or influenced by a foreign person and whether as result the potential for an undue risk to the common defense and national security may exist.
The FOCI Management Team processes requests for FOCI determinations, maintains a database for tracking/accounting for individual's requests and five-year renewals when appropriate for contractors/subcontractors.
When a change in the extent and nature of FOCI that would affect the information in a contractor's and/or any tier parents' most recent DOE FOCI submission(s) occur, the contractor/parent immediately provides written notification and supporting documentation relevant to the changes to the FOCI Management Team.

NICMOS Foci   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-04)
The data suggest that since the beginning of June 1997, there is no substantial trend in NICMOS foci, with focus position fluctuating typically within \pm 0.5 mm or less (in ``PAM space'') about the average on the time scale of about two weeks.
Along with temporal variations, the NICMOS foci have been found to vary spatially across detectors' field of view.
For camera 2, the focus position difference between the top and the bottom of the detector corresponds to \sim 1.5 mm of ``PAM space'', which is a non-negligible amount in terms of the impact of focus abberations on photometry.
