Fokker 70 historien begynner med F-28 Fellowship, en 'Regional-Jet' som kom før markedet var klar for den, så avansert at den var litt vel krevende for mange selskap, som gjorde at de satt på bakken mere enn ønskelig for mange av dem.
Fokker 70 is a derivative of The very special Fokker F-28 Fellowship, wich, in later editions was lengthened afet massive modification, into the Fokker 100 (F-28-100), and, then later shortened to become The Fokker 70 (F-28-070).
The Fokker 70 is really a strong little guy of an aircraft, to save money, it has a lot of the Fokker 100 body, it could have been built lighter, but that would of course cost a lot more.
