Football Manager - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Football Manager 3 was poorly received, seen by many as an attempt to cash-in on the previous successes with a sub-standard game, and as a result the series came to an end.
Football Manager 2005 was released in the UK on 4 November 2004 - closely followed by releases in many other countries around the world - and it became the 5th fastest selling PC game of all time (according to Eurogamer).
Football Manager 2006 for PC and Mac was released in the UK on 21 October 2005 (2 weeks earlier than the originally stated November 4th release).

It is available for PC, Mac platforms, and was released in the UK on October 21, 2005 (2 weeks earlier than the originally stated November 4th release).

 Football Manager III
Football Manager 3, the latest in a long line, has had nearly ten years to take the best aspects of hundreds of other footy management games and turn them all into one indisputable, unbeatable classic.
The rnatch sequence in Football Manager 3 consists of a tiny little rectangular pitch occupying about half of the screen, (with no centre circle or penalty-box arcs, natch) covered in little stick players even smaller than the ones in the original Football Manager, which all lurch around colour-clashing horribly.
Still, apart from that, Football Manager 2 was a bit of a corker, striking just about the best balance to date between trainspotter technical accuracy and strategic depth, and the zingier, prettier, action side of things.

 Football Manager 2006 - Ferrago
Football Manager 2006 includes all the features that prior PC series fanatics may well be hoping to experience (including the ability to manage a chosen club's reserve and youth teams, etc., which vastly deepens the game's draw), and, on the whole, the game performs extremely well in terms of re-creating the professional managerial illusion.
Football Manager 2006 - much like its PC and PSP brethren, and also Championship Manager before it - is all about backroom immersion via the considered processing of text-based menus and stats galore; the game doesn't even display mugshots of its in-game squad players.
Players with enough passion for football will quickly lose themselves in the masses of decisions beneath their managerial fingertips, and will also swiftly forgive and forget the seemingly vast plunge in strictly aesthetic frills as the hours slide by.

Football Manager Handheld for PSP Review - PSP Football Manager Handheld Review
Football Manager Handheld lacks the depth of its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts, but can be enjoyed in short bursts or played for hours at a time.
Sports Interactive's Football Manager series has a long and distinguished history that dates back to 1992, when Championship Manager was released for the Atari ST and the Commodore Amiga.
Football Manager Handheld is a game that can be enjoyed for 10 minutes at a time or 10 hours at a time, and while some kind of multiplayer content would've been welcome, the single-player game is such that you'll likely still be in charge of the same team a year or two from now.

Football Manager Handheld Review on PSP - TotalVideoGames.com
From there, the game is pure Football Manager with the core gameplay that's to be expected in such a title: addictive, immersive, and proving gamers to lead their team out in the most accurate football management experience currently available.
In Football Manager Handheld, the navigation is mapped to each of the PSP's face buttons and d-pad, with the analogue 'nipple' useful for skipping to the bottom of lists in a single push and the shoulder buttons acting as back/forward options.
Playing Football Manager Handheld will almost certainly feel like a strange nostalgic trip for football management sim veterans thanks to its more streamlined 'raw' gameplay, which some (especially those who like their control over reserve teams and all the other latest features) may be disappointed with.

Football Manager 2006 (PC) Review at RewiredMind.com
Football Manager 2006 is the definitive football management simulation, and I’m not afraid to tell you from the outset that FIFA Manager, Total Club Manager, LMA Manager and all the others are trailing by a long, long way when it comes to entertainment value, addictiveness and pure value for money.
The game presents you with screen after screen of numbers and words, and your job as a professional football manager is to collate all of that information and bring it together in the form of a championship winning team.
The fact that Football Manager 2005 was nigh-on perfect and that you didn’t realise that anything above the mandatory player statistic updates was needed to make it any better this time around, only serve to launch the game beyond the stars that it promotes.
