Footmouse is a cursor control device operated by foot movement.
The base of the Footmouse remains on the floor, and the cursor is moved by sliding the foot over the base in an up, down, left or right motion.
Footmouse plugs in between the keyboard and the computer; it does not interfere with normal keyboard operations when in use.

 Footmouse? Holy hell!
At the first notion of this concept, I'm thinking, "What the hell?" But the Footmouse website has plenty of reasons and testimonies on why you should stop using your hand to control the cursor and rely on your feet.
For the final reason as to why this thing is lame, I want you all to consider the people in their rolling chairs trying to stay in one spot as their feet crank away at the Footmouse.

The bottom of the movement unit reveals the big trick....I used a dremel to cut a hole in the sheet metal to allow the optical tracking element to 'see' the floor.
However, once one gains the dexterity to use footmouse well, he can be more productive at the computer as he can type and perform mouse input concurrently.
All of the components I used to build footmouse are easily obtained, except for perhaps the sheet metal.

I have heard it only works with OS/9.
That footmouse looks like a nice product, but it is extremely expensive.
Personally, I just use regular Apple Mice with cord extensions for foot mice (clicking only -- I remove the tracking balls).
