	UFO (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		UFO was a transitional band between the rock of Led Zeppelin and the metal to come in the NWOBHM.
		UFO's influence was strongly felt in the '80s metal scene and they have been cited as a primary influence by Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth among others.
		UFO's early work was influenced by the space rock sound (their second album was subtitled "One Hour Space Rock") that was modestly popular at the time but the band realized the style was somewhat limited.

		For this album they have added some new blood (guitar hero, Vinnie Moore, and the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, Jason) and that adds a new dimension to their music, sounding really fresh and (this is really surprising for a band that has been playing for more than 30 years) “young”.
		Ufo are a true band that had much to say and that’s always ready to burn out the soul of the audience and that, until they release so enjoyable albums, will always be worthy the given success.
		UFO then went on to produce a string of 4 records that were good, however several steps below their predecessors, the notable exception being '81's "The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent," a lost classic that to me stands toe-to-toe with their best.

		The album's stylings are similar to those of the previous album's, but the tracks are different enough that you're not gonna get that feeling of deja vu you get when listening to some artists.
		If you're wanting to buy UFO albums, you have a few choices on which issues to get (sadly though, they aren't sold most American stores.) There are the Russian twofers, the British twofers, the onefers with bonus tracks, and the plain old onefers that don't have any bonus tracks at all.
		Force It is a great UFO album that is more than worthy of a place in the collection of any fan of classic hard rock and heavy metal.

		It's clear from the outset that this album is a rawer and less polished affair.
		One problem I have always had with UFO is their lack of genuine all time classic songs and Covenant again confirms that belief.
		What a sad day when what remaining members of UFO can stand to be in the same studio for a mere two weeks or less and churn out this waste of plastic.

		'Force it' from 1975 is the second classic UFO effort that started with 'Phenomenon' a year earlier.
		The intense 'Mother Mary' shows UFO's ability to really be heavy, while 'High flyer' clearly display the band's talent to write slow numbers with a lot of heart and soul.
		'Force it' is a very good album of the rather same quality as any of the albums released from the classic line up (featuring Michael Schenker), and I dare to say that you should invest in them all.

		UFO consisted of Schenker on guitar, vocalist Phil Mogg, bassist Pete Way, drummer Andy Parker and keyboardist Paul Raymond.
		After 1978's Obsession, the band's studio albums decreased in quality and Schenker left the band in 1980 to form his own group He also joined his brothers group the Scorpions for a few albums, notably Lovedrive.

		Once inside the album one was greeted instantly with the record's emotional anchor, lead single 'Only You Can Rock Me' rumbling and trundling forth blessed with a richness of melody that took the track into the regal realm of heavy Queen.
		It was something that we thought perhaps would give the album a bit more of a raw edge; plus you could always put the polish on it in the studio.
		Obsession may not be the UFO album a great many fans point to as a favourite, but at least it demonstrated a brave versatility and will to greatness practiced by more successful '70s behemoths like Sabbath, Purple, Zeppelin and Queen.
