	Ford GT40
		The Ford GT40 was one of the most distinctive sports cars of all time.
		Henry Ford II wanted a Ford at Le Mans since the early 1960s, initially there was an attempt to buy Ferrari, but after they backed away in 1963 Ford started a lone project.
		The original GT40 first raced at Le Mans in 1964 and was not very successful with all three cars retiring, but the experience gained then and in 1965 allowed the Mark II to dominate the race in 1966 with a 1-2-3 finish.

		Henry Ford II had identified the need to inject some youth and excitement into the marque and turned to GT racing to do it.
		In 1963 a subsiduary - Ford Advanced Vehicles - was set up with a couple of dozen employees and a couple of Lola cars to use as the basis for research and development.

		In 1965 Ford settled on a 4.7 litre V8 for its MK I GT40, Fifty cars were produced to conform to homologation laws for racing.
		The GT40 MK III was intended for road use and a 4.7 litre V8 detuned to 306 bhp was offered.
