		The Granada seems to almost have followed in his footsteps, the chubby kid which became the slim and stylish youth, before growing increasingly large, bloated and ugly.
		For this test, we were loaned a G registered Granada (the best part of ten years old), well past its first bloom of youth, and now depreciated almost to the bargains section of Auto Trader.
		At least with the Granada, the ones that were produced, including the so-called Scorpio, seem to be lasting quite well, so we could be seeing them for a long time yet.

		This is the fourth Granada that I have owned, I bought it in 1992, It had 69,000 miles on the clock and the body work was in reasonable condition being only slightly crumbley around the edges.
		Although the car was garaged and only used in the summer the bodywork gradually deteriorated until I was forced to make a choice of either scrapping it or having it restored.
		Early GXLs are quite rare, which was one of the things that tempted me. However its been sitting in a garage gathering dust since I bought it so I sometimes wonder why I bothered.

		Within the last 4 months I've had the head gasket blow, which cost about 600 pounds to fix (had this on one of the other Granadas too)and now I've got a serious immobiliser problem which may mean the car being sold for scrap already.
