  Ford Park Cemetery History
Ford Park Cemetery was established in 1848 by the Plymouth Devonport and Stonehouse Cemetery Company.
The architects who designed the Cemetery were a Gloucester partnership of J R Hamilton and James Medland, who were the winners of a competition organised by the directors of the Cemetery Company.
Ford Park Cemetery Trust, which is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, took over the Cemetery in April 2000 and now manages it as a working cemetery for the people of Plymouth.

A year after a Plymouth cemetery was saved from closure, the owners say it is still lacking the money and support to keep it open.
In 1999, Ford Park Cemetery was threatened with closure when the company which ran it went out of business and it was placed in the hands of liquidators.
But the Ford Park trustees say considerably more work needs to be done, and they are warning that without extra money and support the cemetery may once again be faced with closure.

I've visited the cemetery and know that there are some of my WOOD ancestors there but graves are very overgrown.
I have finally find out in London which cemetery my maternal great grandparents are buried Christine and Frederick Glasser, next time I make it to London to visit my relatives I will definitley stop at Abney Park to see my great grandparents graves, thank you for this sight.
