The idea was simple, take a dog-eared but mechanically sound Ford Pop, chuck away the remains of its bodywork, and fit instead one of a large number of fibreglass bodies that would drop onto the Pop chassis.
The fact that many sidevalve Ford (and Austin) specials headed to the racing track, to compete in races held by the 750 Motor Club for instance, only served to fuel the interest in these cars.
The cream and red car is a Typhoon, sidevalve based, 8hp head twin su's, 4.7 diff and it now has ballamy wheels, this is a totally original car.

When in 1935 the price of the Two door was reduced to £100 the upholstery changed from Leather/Cloth to Rexine and the Model name Popular was created.
The 107E was a hybrid model, comprising the discontinued 100E Prefect body shell mated with the new 105E Anglia's OHV engine and running gear - including a four-speed gearbox.
The car was introduced at the 1959 motor show to fill a gap in Ford's range for a small four-door saloon until the arrival of the Consul Classic.

Following the success of the Consul/Zephyr Ford applied the same engineering and styling principles to its new small car range in 1953, the cars were new, but the names were familiar, Anglia and Prefect.
Both Anglia and Prefect versions were given the Ford model code 100E.
The model was well received despite its flaws and enjoyed strong sales that lasted until the arrival of the 105E Anglia in 1959.

A water pump first appeared in 1953 on the new 100E models, Ford had spent a great deal of many in re-tooling for what was an out of date power plant even in 1953!

Ford updated the Anglia in 1948 and continued the theme set by the pre-war E04A model, luckily the "new" E494A Anglia was only intended to be a stop-gap until the arrival of the 100E series in 1953.

Lower-priced versions of the Caterham Seven sports car will be fitted with Ford engines as from the end of this year.
As far as UK customers are concerned, it will be available in three power outputs; starting from the top, 160bhp, 140bhp and a lower figure which has not yet been confirmed for entry-level cars.
The original Seven - introduced by Lotus in 1957, 16 years before Caterham took over the manufacturing rights - used a Ford sidevalve unit, and the Ford Kent crossflow was very popular in later years.

The Ford Model 91 was a car made by the British Ford in 1939 only and was the last of the British pre war V-8 range that had started with the V8 18 in 1932.
For the British market it was available as a two door convertible, a two door, five seat estate and a 4 door, 4 seat saloon.
It was powered by a 3622 cc Ford Sidevalve V8 and still used the transverse leaf suspension pioneered on the Model T. The Model 91 was also license built by Ford-Vairogs in Latvia as Ford-Vairogs V8 De Luxe.

The Intake for the carb's I will have to have fabricated,and there are already a few types of Sidevalve V8 Supercharger Intakes on the market that I should be able to adapt one of?
Lots of work ahead of you, it should fit but again lots of work, best to start 10% under and go from there dependan on capacity, go ask at your local rod club.

This site is dedicated to all things sidevalve and sidevalve-esque (which means that machinery which uses sidevalve derivatives is also represented at this site).

It is best to try and contact them for membership and spares by using the latest club contact information from practical clasics etc. A site that hasn't been updated in ages (sadly like mine) is Cersten's.
