Garcia “is a bandit, irresponsible, and he is already torpedoing the relations with a brother country (…) how can one have diplomatic relations with a government directed by a vagabond”, Chávez said during an official visit to Bolivia.

Peruvian Congressman Carlos Bruce, a member of Toledo's party "Peru Posible" and ex-minister in Toledo's administration, informed that Foxley “apologized to Peru's President of Congress, Mercedes Cabanillias, for the views expressed by the Chilean member of the delegation that signed the "Agreement of Economic Complementation" (ACE) on Tuesday in Lima.
Peru's Foreign Minister Garcia Belaunde asserted yesterday that no negative commentary will affect the “good relations” between the governments of both countries.
