The kingdom of Swaziland is a small, landlocked country in southern Africa, surrounded by South Africa except for a short border with Mozambique.
Central Swaziland is gently undulating savanna, whereas the eastern Lowveld is flat and semiarid.
Swaziland is rich in mineral resources, especially in the western Highveld, which contains the enormous Havelock asbestos mine, vast iron ore deposits, and pockets of gold and tin.
