Lou Grammatico then became Lou Gramm, and with the band that was initially called "Trigger" (later to become Foreigner), became one of the most successful rock vocalists of the late 1970s and 1980s.

Ah, but Foreigner wouldn't be Foreigner without their trademark keyboards or the band's fine sense of melody, which "Provocateur" has both of in great abundance, too.
Foreigner's fifth album is my least favorite Foreigner album of the 1970's-80's period but it's a little bit better than the stuff they've done in the 1990's.

I know very little about the band Foreigner, except that their music was a staple of my childhood.
Foreigner spawned such hits as "Jukebox Hero," "Cold as Ice," "I Want to Know What Love Is," and "Waiting for a Girl Like You." The band split up in 1989, with Jones and lead singer Gramm going their separate ways.
While I'm all for seeing a band on their off hours, it is quite annoying to have the music split up just so we can hear a musician's thoughts on his craft.

Foreigner, like Chicago, had become somewhat of a "predictable ballad machine" by the tame the eighties rolled around.
That does not mean the band's classic era (roughly defined as 1977-1982) is underrepresented, as nineteen tunes from that era are here, but some of them- namely, the big hits, no less- are given edits.
However, JUKEBOX HEROES does include all of the band's biggest hits and many of their essential album tracks, and for that alone, it is a worthwhile collection to own for people who just want one Foreigner compilation.
