Forest Glen is, however, recognized by the United States Census Bureau as a Census-designated Place, and by the United States Geological Survey as a populated place located at 39°1′8″N, 77°2′48″W (39.018909, -77.046797)
It is served by the Forest Glen Red Line stop on the Washington Metro at Forest Glen Road and Georgia Avenue.

 Daniel Carroll
Once these laws were nullified by the Maryland constitution of 1776, the way was cleared for his election to the upper house of the Maryland legislature (1777-81).
After ratification was achieved in Maryland, Carroll became a representative in the First Congress, where, reflecting his concern for economic and fiscal stability, he voted for the assumption of state debts by the federal government.
He later served in the Maryland senate and as one of three commissioners appointed to survey the District of Columbia.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation and Save Our Seminary at Forest Glen, Maryland, sought declaratory and injunctive relief based on a demolition by neglect theory to compel the Army to preserve the National Park Seminary Historic District, which was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
Addressing the merits of the case in light of Section 106, plaintiffs argued that the Army made an affirmative decision not to excess the historic district in 1984 and that such a decision was an undertaking under Section 106.
Accordingly, the Army's failure to initiate consultation with the Council and the Maryland SHPO prior to that decision in 1984 was a violation of Section 106.

"Ye Forest Inne", was built as a hotel in Forest Glen (outside of Washington DC) in 1887.

The development of the wooded site, Forest Glen, north of Washington, D.C. in Montgomery County, Maryland, dates to 1887 when a group of investors purchased a 160-acre parcel and built "Ye Forest Inne" as a summer retreat.
They had hoped to attract other investors to develop the rest of the land but the venture failed in 1894.
Not noted on the Register application, and undoubtable, is its significance as a military site--the convalescent center for Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital.

During World War II, it was taken over by the Army's Walter Reed Hospital.
Forest glen is now quite overgrown and decrepit - many of the statues are missing - but it's still a strangely beautiful place.

If you go to our Metro Links navigation tool for Forest Glen, you'll find that in terms of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc., this section of Georgia Avenue in Montgomery County is sort of sparse.
(Not a forest and not a glen, from what we can tell.) The Post's Steven Ginsberg, in his new Get There blog, tells us that in terms of Montgomery County's worst-clogged intersections, Forest Glen Road and Georgia Avenue, is the county's biggest offender.
So for those adventuresome souls out there who are curious about the mystery and mystique of the Forest Glen station, just know that when you get to the surface, you're likely to just see cars and unhappy faces.
