The Royal Burgh of Forres (Gaelic: Farrais), an ancient burgh, is situated in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast.
Forres is thought to be the "Varris" shown on maps by Ptolemy almost 2,000 years ago.
Forres was a parliamentary burgh, combined with Inverness, Fortrose and Nairn, in the Inverness Burghs constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1708 to 1801 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1918.

The above premises began as a Fish and Chip shop sometime in the early 1920's by a Mr and Mrs Filippo Iannetta, who at the end of the decade (1928/29) had in their employment a young man "Michele Miele".
Michele worked between their other business outlets in Elgin and Nairn - all of these businesses were later sold on and the Forres branch was taken over sometime between 1929 and 1930 by Michele Miele.
