Fort Ann is a town in Washington County, New York, United States.
The fort named Fort Anne (in honor of Princess Anne, eldest daughter of King George II) was constructed in 1757 at the site where the 1777 Battle of Fort Anne occurred during the Saratoga Campaign.
The town was organized as Westfield in 1784, but was renamed Fort Ann -- without the "e" -- in 1808.

Fort Ann Town Attorney John Aspland said no cause for the dam failure had yet been determined.
He said the plans had been approved by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Army Corps of Engineers, and DEC officials inspected the dam after it was complete.
