	Research + Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in the Over Forty Age Group
		The aim of this study was to analyse the use of a bone-patella tendon-bone autograft for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligaments in patients with persistent instability and restricted function over the age of 40 years.
		A consecutive group of 14 patients over the age of 40 years at the time of surgery was compared with a concurrent series of 50 patients under the age of 40.
		Clinical analysis demonstrated all patients in the group over 40 to have a negative pivot shift compared with 7% of patients under the age of 40 having an abnormal pivot shift examination.
