Joseph McElroy (born 1930 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American novelist.
McElroy grew up in Brooklyn Heights, NY, a neighborhood that features prominently in much of his fiction.
McElroy's writing is often grouped with that of William Gaddis and Thomas Pynchon because of the encyclopedic quality of his novels, particularly the 1191 pages of Women and Men (1987).

Foster was born in 1962 and was greatly influenced by the Philly soul of the era, while Thomas McElroy was influenced by his father's love for jazz music.
While working on their FM2 album, Foster and McElroy made plans to put together a girl group that would be a modern-day version of The Supremes, and would produce records for the group that mixed classic sou style vocals with hip hop beats.
After several auditions, Foster and McErloy eventually selected Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson, and Terry Ellis to become the members of En Vogue, as the girl group came to be called.

I doubt very much that En Vouge is going to work with Elroy and McFoster again....not after those two made HUGE amounts of money off the members of En Vouge.
As most of us on this board already know, the industry is very fickle and isn't giving these girls the push that they got in the past.
But Foster & McElroy ARE still producing for En Vogue.
