Topic: Foundation (charity)

Foundation (charity) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Foundation is a type of philanthropic organization set up by either individuals or institutions as a legal entity (either as a corporation or trust) with the purpose of distributing grants to support causes in line with the goals of the foundation.
The foundation has a distinct patrimony independent of its founder and if it is not a moral person, it is considered to be a social trust.
Frequently, these community foundations have both funds to be used at the discretion of the board of directors and other, specialized funds established by individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit groups at these foundations into which they contribute a variety of assets (cash and stock being among the most popular).

Welcome to my foundation website and thank you for taking an interest in my charitable activities.  Growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana I was blessed to have people in my life that taught me the importance of helping others in need.
I did not grow up with many material things; but, I was surrounded by the love of my family, friends, and coaches.  My mother worked several overtime hours to put food on the table and a roof over our heads.
Being that I grew up in a single-mother household, I have focused my charitable efforts to help single mother families obtain first-time homeownership.  I believe that homeownership is the foundation to establishing a stable and productive family environment, an environment where children can thrive educationally, socially, and economically.
