Showcases :: The Four Gospels in Armenian
Several gospels were written by Christ’s early followers, but only four were authorised for inclusion in the Bible by the Council of Nicaea in 325.
Answers to both questions are found in the Gospels’ colophons – the name given to notes added to a manuscript, usually at the end, that often provide details about the commission and making of the work.
The square panel to the left houses the numbers in Armenian letters of the readings from the Gospel made during the yearly cycle of church worship.

Her dream of establishing a more permanent "foursquare movement" built around her understanding of the four roles of Jesus Christ - savior, baptizer, healer, and coming king - became a reality when she opened (1923) Angelus Temple, a 5,300 seat auditorium.
Scandal repeatedly touched her personal life - most notably in 1926 when she disappeared for a month, reappeared with the story that she had been kidnapped, and was tried (case dismissed) for perjury.
The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel arose as a result of her ministry in 1927.

Every minority, be it Baptist/Unitarian, Irish/Italian/Octogenarian/Zen Buddhist, Zionist/Seventhday Adventist, Women's Lib/Republican, Mattachine/Four Square Gospel feels it has the will, the right, the duty to douse the kerosene, light the fuse.
The gospel, on the contrary, only speaks of the general relations of men to God and to each other - beyond which it inculcates and imposes no point of faith.
This alone, besides a thousand other reasons, would suffice to prove that the former of these religions will never long predominate in a cultivated and democratic age, whilst the latter is destined to retain its sway at these as at all other periods.

 The Gospel
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also (1 Corinthians 15:1-8 New American Standard Bible).
Back to that passage in 1 Corinthians: Notice how may times Paul said, "according to the Scripture." The Gospel message that we are now to hold fast, not add to, or take anything from, was the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
