The Arctic fox (Alopex lagopus), or white fox, as it is often called, is a member of the canid family and is related to other foxes, wolves, and dogs.
Foxes living where it is cold all the time generally stay white, while those living on the coast where it is warmer tend to stay bluish.
The arctic fox (Alopex lagopus) is found in treeless coastal areas of Alaska from the Aleutian Islands north to Point Barrow and east to the Canada border.

For Fox television to titillate the sadistic impulses of this kind of viewer is ugly, mean and cruel.
Fox representative Scott Grodin (scottgro@fox.com) told UPC there is “no empirical evidence” that Fox put the hen into the air, and that the TV host tying balloons to a hen was “a promo that conveyed that idea,” and that “a hen may be sent up” and aired on Fox television again.
“We are asking Fox quite simply to stop their cruelty or to confine it to those who can dish it back and to drop their sleeze in the quest for imitation,” says UPC President Karen Davis.

Originally from Michigan, the Fox were driven out by enemy tribes in the early 17th century and crossed the Strait of Mackinac to resettle in northeastern Wisconsin.
They were agricultural people who raised maize, beans, and squash and in the winter sent hunting parties farther west for buffalo.
The Fox called themselves the Mesquakie (Meshkwahkihaki, Meskwaki, Meskwakihuk, Meskwakihugi) meaning "red earth people." Early French explorers mistook a clan name (Wagosh meaning fox) for that of the entire tribe and began referring to them as the "Renard" (French for Fox), and the English and Americans continued the error in their own language.

Sac and Fox Language and the Sac and Fox Indian Tribe (Mesquakie-Sauk, Meskwaki, Mesquaki)
People: The Fox and Sac have been such closely associated allies that they are usually considered as a single tribe.
The only survivors were a group of no more than 500 Fox people who were sheltered by their near relatives the Sauk, and, though they had previously maintained good relations with the French, the Sauk tribe now found themselves under assault as well.
Luckily for the Fox and Sauk, the various Native Americans allied with the French were starting to put more and more pressure on them to abandon their commitment to genocide, and the French eventually gave in and made reluctant peace with the Sac and Fox tribes.
