With any linux distro, you're not going to be running as many games as its not often that developers port for linux, you're not going to be able to use all the software that you do on Windows and there is quiet a steep learning curve...
The thing about Linux is that you won't get to play as many games and use as many software applications as you used to.
Linux is simply an alternative for those with a grudge against M$...they can say this is better and that is better but you can always find something to contradict it.
