		the Fox river “Neenah,” which was known to mean “clear water,” as differing from the Wiskonsan river whose water appeared turbid or colored by the sand in its bed and banks.” However, the name of the Fox river was too firmly implanted among the people and Doty’s suggestion was not considered (Clark, 1973).
		In December 1997, the Fox River Group sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Secretary, Carol Browner, asking her to reverse the Environmental Protection Agency ruling which denied the companies the opportunity to conduct the Remedial Investigation Feasibility Study.
		The Fox River Group recently asked the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Natural Resources to reconsider their decision so that the work on the Fox River can begin as quickly as possible.
