  Dolcin, Fra
Dolcino de' Tornielli of Novara, said to have been the natural son of a priest born in the latter half of cent.
He was known as Fra Dolcino because of his connexion with the sect of the Apostolic Brothers, founded in 1260 by Gherardo Segarelli of Parma, with the object of bringing back the Church to the simplicity of the apostolic times.
Fra Dolcino and his companion, the beautiful Margaret of Trent, who was asserted to be his mistress, were taken prisoners and burned alive at Vercelli (June 1307), the former having first been paraded through the streets in a wagon, after being horribly tortured and mutilated.

Apocalyptic Poverty: Abstract   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
Starving and outnumbered, Dolcino and the few surviving Apostles were tortured, interrogated and executed, bringing to a violent and fiery end a movement that had started peacefully almost a half-century before.
Coupled with Dolcino’s apocalyptic ideas, these events implied that the Order was the only true and proper inheritor of the mantle of the biblical Apostles and the successor of the now-corrupt papacy.
This study of the history of Segarelli, Dolcino and the Order of Apostles is essential for understanding the process of stereotyping, marginalization and violence in the Middle Ages.

Adso and Ubertino are discussing the role of Margaret in Dolcino's Apostolic Congregation.
Umbertino explained to Adso that Fra Dolcino started as a disciple of Gherardo Segarelli, but soon after he descended into a “reckless and promiscuous life.” Dolcino, like Gherardo before him, started a movement to denounce Benedictine authority because it did not promote an impoverished lifestyle, which is how he interpreted God’s will.

Fra Dolcino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The origins of Fra Dolcino and his real name are a subject of constant debate among historians, the tradition of the last centuries says he belonged to the Tornielli family, while the Inquisition pretends he was the illigitimate son of a priest fleed from Vercelli to escape punition for some small burglaries.
Fra Dolcino, a former member, became in 1300 the leader of the movement of Apostolics, and influenced by the millenarist theories of Gioacchino da Fiore give the birth to the Dulcinian movement, which existed between the years 1300 1307.

Contrast of Realism in More and Dante
Muhammed somebody called Fra Dolcino who a preacher, and also sentenced to the death, who leads a nomadic community who shares everything, even their woman, on the other hand the sharing is a major discipline of Islam.
By this point, according to strict and corrupted rules of Church, these seem to be same as Islamic predictions and beliefs of Fra Dolcino’s community are considered as “perverted” according to 14th century Christianism.
Muhammed also says that Fra Dolcino will “soon follow” (Dante, Inferno, Canto XXVIII, p.21) in Hell, and that gives a sense of reality to Christian reader by having a real and able-to-see example of Fra Dolcino about the punishment of leaders of schism.

Francescotti shows a particular vocation for historical research, and has not limited himself to the Renaissance period, but went further back, looking into the story of fra Dolcino and Margherita, whose adventures are splendidly described in the book Passione di fra Dolcino and Margherita (1980).
As is known, fra Dolcino, a Piedmontese, who took refuge even in Trentino, was burned at the stake in 1307.
After editing an anthology with the works of eleven dialect poets of Trentino and condensing in one volume his three works on emigration (1988), Francescotti went back to writing poetry in 1991, after an interval of almost ten years.
