Topic: Framsburg

  Framsburg - Tolkien Gateway
Framsburg was the capitol of the Éothéod, the ancestors of the Rohirrim, while they lived in the far north by the Grey Mountains.
Framsburg was probably founded shortly after the Éothéod arrived in Third Age 1977, during the rule of Frumgar, but it took its name from his son Fram, the famed slayer of the Dragon Scatha.
The city was probably abandoned circa 2510 when Eorl the Young led the Éothéod south to settle the land later known as Rohan.

Anduin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Their old capital Framsburg was built at the confluence of these streams where the Anduin proper began.
Settlements in the Vale of Anduin during the Third Age included the northman city of Framsburg, Beorn's Halls and the Stoor settlements near the Gladden Fields (where Sméagol/Gollum) was born.
It was in the Gladden Fields in the northern reaches of Anduin that Isildur was slain and the One Ring lost; and it was there, more than two millennia later, that Déagol found the Ring and Sméagol took it from him.

 Cirion
Cirion could not spare many men to defend this part of his realm, and in despair he sent several messengers to their old friends the Éothéod, a people living in the far north.
Only one man, Borondir, reached the Éothéod capital of Framsburg, and deliverd his message to the king Eorl the Young.
After not receiving any answer for a full year, Cirion set out west through Anórien, to prevent the Balchoth from going across the Anduin at the Undeeps and the Wold.

Fram (Furam, Fruma) was not yet prince and had still maintained the colony in the south, where the Ivathidu had dwelled for over a hundred years, at the Great South Carrock (Beleg Hargon) (called by the Ivathidu Satinisbarug or Stainsbaurgs).
In Framsburg and at his stead near by he kept a Ivathidu woman, Bavirgalkun, and was known by his Ivathidu name in those parts.
Few of the Ivathidu realized he was a foreigner in those latter days of his life, just as few Gondorans realized he was of their people.

The Steward sent forth six men: three pairs with the first departing on the tenth day of Súlimë.
They faced 450 miles through Calenardhon to the Undeeps-already under the watch of the Balchoth--and then another 500 more north to Framsburg.
And once they crossed the Undeeps, they would have to ride by night and had first to pass the evil of Dol Guldur.

VN Boards - that Eotheod place
Framsburg is most likely a town or city, much like Edoras was a large town or city.
Anyway, we know virtually nothing of Framsburg, but it probably started out as a small fortress (the Eotheod were not very numerous and probably could have fielded no more than 2-3,000 Riders in Fram's time).
They were farmers and herders, descended from soldiers of Rhovanion's army (the cavalry, or part of it) who had been driven west to the Vales of Anduin by the Wainriders -- and probably also from Northmen native to the Vales of Anduin, whose culture and numbers we know nothing about.

Because this is a hoard item, hunting parties have three options: make a special trip to Framsburg, brave a dragon auto-attack, or go to a Shadow-hold or a Dark-hold and play Dwarven Hoard.
Easiest in terms of card and turn economy is to visit Framsburg.
Framsburg without intending to bring in to play Fram Framson behooves you to get there the earliest possible to avoid your opponent setting up nasty combinations targeting Ruins & Lairs or Shadowholds.
