Defenseman Francis Bouillon was born in New York state but played his Junior hockey in the QMJHL with Laval and Granby, where he was fortunate enough to captain the 1996 Memorial Cup champion Granby Predateurs before turning professional with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in 1996.
Bouillon saw this as an excellent opportunity heading to a young club of increasing his ice time, but ended up only playing a handful of games before he was put on waivers and re-acquired by Montreal.
Bouillon again found himself on the outside looking in, though when he was called upon by Montreal he played solid positional hockey and again provided toughness and physical play.
