Francis was later Sheriff of Prince William County, and a large planter in Northern Virginia.
The premonition of this fate was the removal in 1748, Francis Awbreys death, of the public ferry to Analostan Island against the then nascent settlement of Georgetown.

Vice Admiral Warren (1703-52) made a fortune capturing French warships in 1745 and 1747 and Professor Gwyn's careful and innovative study shows not only how he came by his wealth but how he much improved it by a careful and clever international investment strategy.
Dedicated to the radical MP Sir Francis Burdett, one of the few Parliamentarians who spoke up for the seamen, the book is certainly by the lawyer, novelist - and former naval officer - William Neale, though it appears possible that he may have plagiarized it from an MS by the antiquary George Roberts.
Sir John Barrow (1764-1848) was a British diplomat, traveler, explorer and administrator who served as Second Secretary of the Admiralty from 1804 to 1845.
