Leach, in the first two volumes of his “Zoological Miscellany,” gives descriptions and figures of various species of the insects of Australia.
The learned entomologist of this country, the Rev. William Kirby, M.A. published two papers in the Transactions of the Linnean Society.
Descriptions and engravings of several Australian insects were inserted by the late profound entomologist Latreille, in Cuvier's “Règne Animal.” In the same year also appeared Schonherr's “Appendix ad Synonymiam Insectorum, sistens Descriptiones novarum Specierum;” which, in addition, contains descriptions of some new species of Australian Coleopterous insects.
